Maybe the title question of this piece should be 'Who is the idiot that doesn't want to be money smart?' Seriously, there are so many good(an obvious) reasons to be smart with your money. Perhaps the question could focus more on the word learn. Why you should learn to be money smart. Well, there is a simple answer to that, which gets complicated in it's practice. You should learn to be money smart because you don't know how and it's a really good thing to know.

Let's take the first part of that answer and then hit on the second. No, not everyone is taught how to make and use their money by their parents or in school. As a matter of fact - most people aren't taught much at all past how to write out a check. Money is a powerful object and you need to treat it as such. You need to take the time and learn how to use it to your best advantage.
