Hot Caterpillar Sandiwches Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup miracle whip
- 2 teaspoons parsley
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 loaf of Italian bread(not presliced)
- 5 slices of ham
- 5 slices of american cheese
- two celery stalks
- Sliced Olives; only 2 slices
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cut 10 slices of the italian bread being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Mix together in a small bowl the first 4 ingredients.
- Starting with the first slice between the bread, spread the mixture. Continue to do this between every other slice.
- Place a slice of ham and cheese between the slices where you put the miracle whip mixture.
- Fold a piece of aluminum foil around the bread and bake for 25 minutes.
- Serve whole loaf on table and use thin sliced celery stalks for antenna and olive slices with pimento in center on toothpicks for caterpillar eyes. Cut sandwiches apart by slicing through the cuts with no meat in them. Makes five sandwiches.
