Snow Balls in a Jar Mix

Ingredients:

• 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar; divided
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:

1. Use a one quart wide-mouth canning jar.
2. In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar and flour. Pour into jar.
3. Place 1/4 cup of confectioners' sugar in a plastic baggie.
4. Layer the chopped pecans and put baggie of confectioners' sugar on top.
5. Close container securely.

Snow Balls in a Jar Mix

• Snow Balls in a Jar Mix
• 3/4 cup of shortening
• 1/4 cup of margarine
• 2 teaspoons of vanilla

1. Preheat the oven to 325F. Grease cookie sheets.
2. In a large bowl, cream together 3/4 cup of shortening and 1/4 cup of margarine.
3. Stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
4. Remove the baggie of confectioners' sugar and save for after baking.
5. Blend in the entire contents of the jar.
6. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place them on the prepared cookie sheet.
7. Bake at 325F for 20 minutes, until lightly brown.
8. Roll in confectioners' sugar(from baggie). Cool on wire rack.

Yield: 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
