Nutty Sugar Crisps Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cream the butter, oil and sugars until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs one at a time and beat well after each egg is added. Add in vanilla and beat well.
  3. Mix the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar in another bowl and add gradually to the creamed mixture. Add in walnuts and stir.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls two inches apart onto un-greased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with a glass dipped in sugar.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let cool on wire racks. Serves: 51.
