Cookie Recipes Index Crinkle-Top Chocolate Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
- Melt one cup of chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
- Beat sugar and butter, in a bowl, for about two minutes or until crumbled. Mix in egg whites and vanilla and beat well. Add in the melted chocolate and stir well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Then gradually add this and the water to the other bowl by alternating between the two.
- Add the remaining chocolate chips and stir well. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for two or three hours or until it is easier to handle.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat cookie sheets with cooking spray.
- Remove from the refrigerator and roll the dough into one inch balls. Roll the balls in the confectioners' sugar and place on cookie sheets two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set. Let cool on wire racks. Serves: 42.
