Amish Recipes
Amish Friendship Banana Nut Bread Recipe

Use ONLY glass, wooden or plastic utensils and bowls. Metal is not used. Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Amish Friendship starter
  • 2 bananas; mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

    Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease and flour(or sugar) two loaf pans.
  • In a large bowl mix together all ingredients. Pour into the greased loaf pans.
  • Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes, until top browns.
  • Cool slightly before taking out of the pans. Slice and serve warm with butter.
