- Use china, doillies and lace wherever possible. Inexpensive china looking tea cups can be purchased at most dollar stores.
- Tea cakes and finger sandwiches can be made with pink frosting for a young ladies birthday tea party.
- Ask the girls to 'bring a friend' and have their favorite doll attend the tea with them.
- Set up a station where the girls can decorate a Victorian hat to wear. Takre a picture of each girl in her hat and include it in the thank card.
- For younger children, strawberry lemonaide makes a wonderful tea.
- Strawberry tea with strawberry syrup and milk makes a beautiful pink tea for a girls tea party.
- Have your guests come all dressed up and come to a tea where they will receive royal treatment.
- Have a dress up station for guests to go to when they arrvie to the tea party with handbags, gloves, boas, fans, etc.
- Hostess can act matronly and remind guests the duties of a young lady to use her manners and say "please" and "thak you" in their most lady-like fashion.
- Afternoon teas generally run from 1pm to 3pm in the afternoon, as tea time is normally 2 pm.
