Birthday Party Theme Ideas: Scavenger Hunt Party

  • When setting up the scavenger hunt, make a checklist for each guest, outlining how and what needs to be collected.
  • Use digital cameras with LCD screens to do a picture scavenger hunt inside or out.
  • Pirate parties lent themselves to be good themes for scavenger hunt parties. Hid gold coins and let your guests trade them in for prizes.
  • To make a treasure hunt, hide piecs to a map around th party area. Once the guest have all the pieces they can track down the treasure using the map.
  • For older teens, have the scavenger hunt in a limo. Give the group a list of things to go get and allow them to visit be driven around gathering these things from people they know.
  • Leave clues starting at a coffee shop for older teens to follow until they end up at the destination of the party.
  • For a mall scavenger hunt, give all of the guests $5 to play. they can win the hunt by buying the most with $5 or the biggest thing, or the smallest thing, etc.
  • Have the kids divide into teams and do a bigger or better scavenger hunt and sent each team out with a toothpick to trade up. Give a time limit.
  • Older teens can do a video scavenger hunt by splitting into teams with one driver a piece. Each team needs a video camera and then you list things that each team needs to do like a Chinese firedrill in a parking lot, go throught a drive through and order one soda, etc. Then the teams go back and watch their videos.
  • Give the birthday girl/boy clues to friends houses to pick them up along with a birthday item, ie. the cake, etc. Each time the birthday girl/boy gets to the house he/she needs to guess what the item is.

Do you want party kits or should you do it yourself? Often with parties, a combination of the two will get things done and give the party your special touch.
