'I _________; therefore I am.'

DSP Prompt: Fill in the blank to make this old quote fit you:
'I parent; therefore I am.'

Seems silly, most parents think this way but I have felt this way long before I had my first daughter. I worked in a teen home – not just a place for teens – but a home financed by a private organization that even allowed me to take graduate courses and paid for them. I loved it because when it all came down to it, many of ‘my kids’ succeeded in living. I feel good about being me when I’m parenting or helping others parent.

Big Red Fuzzy Slippers

DSP Blog Prompt: Tell us--in glorious detail--about something you're embarrassed to admit you like...

I love my big red fuzzy slippers that make me look like the true ‘work-at-home’ person I am. While I get dressed and do not work in my pjs, I am constantly wearing these oh-so-comfortable slippers. It is one of the things I deviate from with the Fly Lady, I don’t put on my shoes. But I have my fuzzy, rubber bottomed, slippers.

Love them!

Traveling Tip for Scrapbooking

When you are going to take a trip take along a notebook and be sure that there is a pen with it. Place it where you will always have it at hand. Tell everyone taking the trip where the book is and to jot down notes about what they see, hear, smell, feel. If someone says something funny, put it in the book! If you keep up with it, you will have more than enough information to journal when you scrap your trip.

Using Quotes in Your Layouts

Do you want to make your scrapbook layouts more unique? One sure fire way is to add quotes! The use of quotes from people around you, the news or using a famous quote will give your layout distinction. It can fulfill the feeling you are trying to get across. Take a look at this example. I’ve used a quote from Anne Frank, “Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.” It elegantly puts into words how I feel about my daughters and how I raise them. It shows a bit about my time in this world, about me the designer of this page, who admires Anne Frank.

Try some quotes in your next layout – you will love them!
