Beginner Scrapbooking Ideas 8 Easy Steps to Creating Your First Layout
- Select a set of photos to work on. For this first one-page layout 3 to 5 photos will be good.
- Select three pieces of paper. They can be three different colored cardstock or one pattern piece with two coordinating cardstocks.
- Choose a focus. This can be one main photo, or two photos placed side by side. Crop this photo first, then do the rest of the photos in the set.
- After you have the pictures cropped, you'll be able to arrange them on the page. If you do not have enough room for all of the pictures, re-crop or choose a picture to leave out.
- Mat your pictures. Adhere them to your page.
- Title using your pens, alphabet stickers or computer fonts.
- Journal! Simply tell the story, add the date, etc. You can computer journal, print it out and mat it, or just write it out in your own hand.
- Add embellishments such as punch art or die cut art, paper piecings, stickers, etc.
