How To Make Serendipity Squares

Gather your supplies and tools:

  • Cardstock; two 12x12 sheets, one dark and one light
  • Patterned paper; one 12x12 and other scraps of paper
  • Glitter, stamps, stickers, embossing powder, fiber(whatever you got!)
  • Cutting templates
  • Adhesive

Follow these instructions:

  1. Using the cutting templates to shape the cardstock, cut long strips of cardstock in one color. Adhere to the other piece of cards stock by covering the strip with adhesive, don't skimp.
  2. Cut long strips of the pattern paper and place them across the shaped strips. Again, don't skimp on the adhesive.

  3. Allow the paper to dry fully and flat by placing it under a heavy book.
  4. Attach any other scraps of paper or stickers you are going to use.

  5. Using a background or collage type stamp, stamp the whole page. Allow the ink to dry.

  6. Add any texturing you will be doing by attaching scraps of fiber, embossing powder or glitter. I heat embossed using white pearly embossing powder and put on some blue seed beads.
