Tangrams are most likely one of the oldest puzzles known to man. Unfortuanately, we aren't sure how old they are as they were a women's and children's toy in ancient China and not considered serious enough to record into history until the 1800s. After the opening up of trade with China and Europe in the 1900s, there was a surge of interest in the puzzle. These days the simple, yet difficult, puzzle is enjoyed by many children and adults.

To make a tangram you'll need:

• Paper
• Scissors
• Tangram picture
• Optional: fun foam

1. Copy the picture below and place into your word processor.(right click-> copy picture)
2. Print out the picture and cut out the 7 pieces.
3. Optional: tape the printed paper to fun foam and use it as a guide to cut the puzzle out in fun foam.
4. Use the seven pieces to complete the puzzle pictures below.

Game Rules

• You have to use all seven tans(pieces).
• All seven tans must lay flat and not overlap.
• All seven must be touching at least one other tan.
