Kids Crafts Projects Ice Candle Craft
Creative candle making craft for kids to enjoy.
You'll need:
- Paraffin wax
- Broken crayons
- Cardboard orange juice or milk boxes
- Ice cubes, (not too big)
- Cotton string(must be cotton to burn as the wick)
- Double boiler
Instructions:
- Braid three strands of the cotton together. They should be about two inches longer than the height of your candle.
- Melt wax in a double boiler.
- Dip the braided wick into the wax a couple of times and allow to harden. This will make it eaiser to work with.
- Stand wick up in the middle of the box and pour 1/2 inch of wax in the bottom. Allow to harden in the freezer.
- Fill the box with ice cubes until about 1 inch from the top, keeping the wick in the middle.
- Pour the melted wax into the box until about 1/4 inch from the top.
- Allow the cubes to melt and wax to harden.
- Pour off water and tear off the cardboard box.
