Digital Scrapbooking with Paint Shop Pro 9

PSP9 Tutorial: Make a Round Bead

These beads are a lot of fun, you can string them together, add string or just plop them around your layout. This is made with Paint Shop Pro 9, other versions may differ slightly. Here's how:

1.) Create a new image

Width: 200 pixels
Height: 200 pixels
Resolution 200 dpi
Raster background
16 million color depth
fill with background color

2.) Using the selection tool, set at circle, draw a circle in the middle of the image.

3.) Fill with your bead color.

4.) Selections -> Modify -> Expand - 3 pixels

5.) Effects -> Artistic Effects -> Balls and Bubbles
Shape = single ball or bubble, maximum size checked
Surface = Material: white; Opacity 15; Shininess 50; Gloss 0
Maps = no checks
Illumination = Max 50 Min 0; Light one highlighted, Color white, highlighted size = 33 back light and bubble light not checked.

6.) Selections -> Select None

7.) Export as a png.
