Digital Scrapbooking with Paint Shop Pro 9PSP9 Tutorial: Make Folded Ribbon
You can use these for tags, stitch them together or anything you want - they are a fun element to use in layouts. This is made with Paint Shop Pro 9, other versions may differ slightly. Here's how:
![]() 1.) Open a ribbon image. Copy and paste as new image. Close the original image. 2.) Using the selection tool, use the custom select button, settings below(you may have to tweak for your size ribbon): ![]() ![]() 3.) Image -> Crop to Selection
4.) Image -> Rotate -> Free Rotate - right and at 80
Height: 800 pixels Resolution 200 dpi Raster background 16 million color depth Transparent 7.) Using your warp brush, move the ribbon around and make it look more real. ![]() 8.) Go back to the ribbon image and Edit -> Undo rotate. Re-rotate left and at 75. 9.) Copy and pasted, be sure that the bottom of this side of the ribbon covers the bottom of the other side. Add drop shadow, vertical & horizontal at 3, blur at 10 opacity at 100.
![]() 10.) Using the warp brush make this side look real. Then pull at the middle of the bottom to make it a bit curved. ![]() 11.) Layers -> New Raster Layer -> Opacity at 15. 12.) Select brush tool shape circle, size 20. Darken the bottom edge that you just curved to give some shadow. ![]() 13.) Adjust -> Blur -> Blur More twice. 14.) Layers -> Merge -> Merge Visible. 15.)
