You can get in free to a local fair or festival just by volunteering to help out. Most of the time your obligation will be minimal, allowing you to enjoy the entertainment. Sometimes, volunteers at fairs, festivals and sporting events get free admission, food and camping. Here again, the duties are usually minimal allowing you time to mingle with the artists.
